Alcuin Award

The ALCUIN award was launched in 1991 by EPA to highlight the role of parents in the education of their children. The Alcuin Award ceremony usually takes place during a General Assembly of EPA every year. It honours the best educational innovation in Europe by giving this recognition to a person, a school, a group or an activity nominated by EPA members, Ministries of Education in the EU countries or the European Commission.
The nominated projects must fulfil the following five criteria:
  • Originality
  • Contribution to education
  • Involvement of parents
  • Home-school relationship in education
  • Easy dissemination and role model for other associations

The tangible presentation of the Award is a trophy, statue or work of art that has been specially designed for this occasion.
